History & Renovation

Welcome to our Property

Our story begins with a ground-floor shop that once operated as a distillery, producing liqueurs and spirits – a significant part of the local tradition and culture.

Today, this historic building has been reborn, now housing three fully renovated suites on the first and second floors, ready to offer unique hospitality experiences. With respect to tradition and attention to detail, each suite is designed with clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic that exudes tranquility and comfort.

Our goal is to provide our guests with a luxurious yet warm atmosphere, combining tradition with modern amenities. Our central location allows guests to explore the picturesque alleys of the Old Town, enjoy local cuisine, and discover the hidden treasures of Rethymno.

Old Distillery was an absolute dream! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the warm, clean, and inviting atmosphere of the newly renovated space. With plenty of natural light the suite felt bright and airy, making it perfect to relax! Views of Church square below and snow capped mountains in the distance, a breathtaking backdrop that we never got tired of. Checkin completely automated and seamless. Tonia and Manusos are extremely communicative making sure we had everything we needed. Bed was super comfortable, great heating, plenty of hot water, and dependable fast Wi-Fi. Our favorite feature the fantastic outdoor patio, a peaceful retreat to enjoy morning coffee and evening wine. Location absolutely unbeatable! Wonderful local restaurants and cafes literally just outside the front door. Old Town, the Fortezza, and beach all within walking distance. The apartment is newly renovated and is perfectly located halfway between the beautiful old town and the beach. Although the apartment is in a lively area, you can’t hear anything with the windows closed. The apartment’s furnishings are modern and extensive. We didn’t miss anything. We spent our honeymoon in Rethymno so we were surprised with flowers and a nice greeting card in the apartment.

All are about 35-45 minutes by car from the Old Town of Rethymno and ideal for a day trip.
